The new tax year is here and here are some of the changes for 2023.
Business Tax Returns - due by March 15, 2023
Individual Tax Return - due by April 18, 2023
Tax Return Extension is due by October 16, 2023
Higher Standard Deduction for 2022
When you pay taxes, you can either take the standard deduction or itemize your deductions (calculate your deductions one by one). This has been adjusted slightly for inflation.

Tax Appointment Checklist Items
- Birthday information and Social Security Number or ITIN number for everyone on the tax return
- Last year’s tax return
- W-2’s and 1099 forms, interest income, other taxable income
- Proof of expenses (Receipts if you plan to itemize) Education Expenses (1098T), Student Loan Interest (1098E), Mortgage Interest, Property taxes for real or personal property, energy efficient upgrades (Form 5695),
- Charitable Contributions
- Self-Employment expenses
- Childcare expenses
- Health care expenses, Health savings account contributions (form 5498SA)
- IRA contributions (Form 5498)
- Job-Related Educational Expenses
